Watershed Hearth, Detail, Fireplace, 8'h. x 8'w. x 2.5'd., fabricated from porcelain enameled steel panels, located in the reading area of the Sherwood Library, Sherwood, OR. The artists worked with Dave Berfield (http://daveberfield.tripod.com/index.html) at his Bainbridge Island studio to render Jean's design in hand painted porcelain on steel. Each panel was fired at least 8 times to build up multiple layers of translucent enamel, and combines sprayed ground coats, hand brushed painting and line drawing applied by silk screen. The design is based on the Pacific Shining Willow, Salix lucida. Sherwood Civic Building, North Pine & NE Oregon Streets, Sherwood, OR. Installed in 2005.
